From the Hydrogen Core Network to CO₂ Infrastructure:
Success Models for the Transformation

How can the lessons learned from building Germany’s hydrogen core network support the development of future CO₂ infrastructure? This question is at the heart of OGE’s Energy Policy Dialogue 2026, taking place on 5 November in Berlin.

Together with representatives from politics, business and industry, we discuss success factors, key learnings and future requirements for the expansion of climate-neutral infrastructure. The focus lies on identifying which elements of the hydrogen network rollout can be transferred to CO₂ infrastructure and where new approaches will be needed.

Speakers and panelists:
  • Bernhard KluttigHead of Department "Safety, Gas and Hydrogen, Equity Investments”; Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (invited)
  • Miguel Ángel López BorregoCEO, thyssenkrupp AG
  • Manuel MohrManaging Director (as of 1.11.2026), VDZ
  • Dr. Thomas HüwenerCEO, OGE

The event will be moderated by Marco Seiffert. We look forward to an engaging exchange on practical solutions for transforming industry and the energy system.
